I seek to capture images which stir emotions for the viewer, and my inspiration often comes from both fine art aviation artists but also imagery I grew up viewing on the boxes of airfix models and in comic books such as Commando. This entails capturing images with a level of dynamism or lighting conditions that deliver an element of drama, and then accentuating this through editing.
Welcome! I am James Goggin a photographer based in Cheshire in the North West of England. My passion is and always has been aviation photography, however, here you will also find photos from my travels around the UK and sometimes further afield. All photos are available for licensing and as prints, simply contact me for further details. Prints can also be ordered via my sister website TastedFlight.com
My photography is heavily weighted towards aviation photography, and in particular warbirds. This stems from growing up in South East England and surrounded by historic WW2 airfields and air shows, and a passionate interest in history from my father. Whilst I love witnessing the finesse, power and noise of aircraft in flight, I equally enjoy capturing the interaction between man, machine and the elements on the ground.
“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”
A quote that is often debated as to who it can be attributed to but regardless, it is a beautiful and powerful quote. Aviation delivers unique views on the world around us, moments of pure serenity with stunning vistas but also marvels in technological development & innovation. It’s an honour to be able to try and capture these aspects via photography.
