A great kick off to the 2014 airshow season, with stunning displays by the Typhoon (with invasion stripes!), Patrouille de France and healthy spattering of warbirds.
Another enjoyable end to RIAT with a chance to see the static display aircraft depart.
RIAT returns with displays from Red Bull’s Flying Bulls B-25 and Corsair, Finnish NH-90, Vulcan, Red Arrows with British Airways A380, French Rafale and the Frecce Tricolori.
A return to Europe’s premier warbird air display hosted by TFC at Duxford.
With a forecast of lovely warm sunshine and blue skies on a Bank Holiday weekend (almost a unheard of in the UK), there was no way I was going to miss the opportunity of attending an airshow.
Theme for the show was the 60th anniversary of the USAAF arriving at Duxford in 1943, and there was a special appearance by Col. Clarence “Bud” Anderson, who ended the war as a triple ace. Displays included the Red Arrows in formation with warbirds, P-51C Princess Elizabeth, P-47 Thunderbolt, P-40 Warhawk, Hunter.
Probably the busiest RIAT departure day for some years as many people attended for a chance to see the B-2 Spirit which had been static over the show days depart back to the US.
A stonker of a RIAT, with the Black Eagles display team from South Korea the headlining display act and a B-2 Spirit in the static.
Action from the two display days at Flying Legends 2012, with displays including Sea Fury, Buchon, P-51 Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt, P-38 Lightning, Spitfire
Press day at RAF Fairford for the media to generate excitement in the lead up to RIAT 2012. A good opportunity to explore inside a USAF MC-130 and chat with it’s crew.
Departure day again at Fairford, highlights included the Tiger scheme F-16 and Tornado, Saudi C-130, and Bronco.
